"You Look Like Your Therapist Gave Up"

Dark humor for people who've done the work. The story behind our most savage shirt — and why it's weirdly popular with actual mental health professionals.

This is not a nice shirt.

Let's just acknowledge that upfront. This is a mean shirt. It's a roast. It's the kind of thing you'd think but never say — except now it's on fabric.

And people love it.

The Humor of the Unthinkable

There's a specific type of comedy that comes from saying the unsayable. From verbalizing the thought everyone has but nobody voices. This design lives in that space.

We've all met someone who made us think "wow, even professional help would struggle here." This shirt just... says that. Out loud. In public.

"It's so mean that it circles back to being funny. Like, nobody would actually say this to someone — which is exactly why putting it on a shirt works."

Surprisingly Popular With Therapists

Here's the thing we didn't expect: actual therapists buy this shirt. A lot of them. For themselves, not their patients.

Maybe it's because they've thought it. Maybe it's because they understand that sometimes humor is coping. Maybe it's because dealing with heavy stuff all day requires an outlet, and dark comedy is a valid one.

Whatever the reason, it's become weirdly popular in mental health circles. Which is either concerning or hilarious, depending on your perspective.

A note on sensitivity: This shirt is clearly absurdist humor. We're not mocking therapy (therapy is great, go to therapy). We're mocking the hypothetical person who is beyond all help — a character that doesn't exist, which is why it's funny.

Who Actually Wears This

People with dark senses of humor. People who grew up in environments where roasting was affection. People who find mean jokes cathartic. People secure enough to laugh at the extreme.

It's not for everyone. That's the point. Some shirts are crowd-pleasers. This one is a crowd-filter.

The Design

Simple typography on black cotton. The message is strong enough on its own — no need for decoration. Just the words, doing their damage.

Made to order in the USA. Please don't actually say this to someone. Unless they're wearing the same shirt. Then it's fair game.

Too Far? Maybe.

But that's kind of the point.
